Marvin Kapushion was born to the long time ranching Kapushion family, rodeoing most of his young life. His family raised cattle and Quarter Horses and for years stood the AQHA champion First Mate. Marvin completed high school and attended Colorado State University majoring in advertising until he moved back to Grand Junction to help the family with the ranch.

Sue Kapushion grew up loving the horse show world and showed Appaloosa’s all through her youth. She started training for the public at the age of 18.

Marvin and Sue met in 1985 and married the next year. They began training horses together immediately forming Kapushion Training and starting a very successful partnership. They worked at their first location in Grand Junction, CO for 5 years before moving 15 miles down the road to a larger location outside Whitewater, CO where they have serviced their customers well since 1990.

Together since then Marvin and Sue have amassed many wins in World and National competition in 3 breeds! Over 40 head in the top 15 at the World or Nationals in Quarter Horse, Appaloosa and Paint.

Marvin and Sue compete and train for a variety of events such as Roping, Hunter under Saddle, Western Pleasure, Working Cowhorse, Reining, Over fence classes and Trail just to name a few and have qualified and competed at the World and National level in all these events. They also specialize in Amatuer and Youth and have coached many World and National level winners in that category too.

Sue is an AQHA, ApHC, APHA and NSBA accredited judge and has judged the Appaloosa Nationals three times, the Appaloosa World Championships, the Australian Nationals, German Nationals and the All American Paint Horse Congress, and the Paint Horse World Championships.

Marvin is an accredited AQHA.APHA, and NSBA judge having judged such shows as the prestigious Redbud circuit in Oklahoma City, the All American Paint horse Congress and the Paint Horse World Championships.

.Both Marv and Sue are members of the Professional Horsemans Association.
